About XKCD Starfield Screensaver
The XKCD Starfield screensaver is based on issue #1229 of the popular webcomic XKCD, which parodies the Starfield Simulation screensaver included with Windows 95, 98, 2k and XP.
Based on issue #1229 ("Screensaver") of the webcomic XKCD, this animated screensaver resembles the classic Starfield screensaver from Microsoft, also known as "Flying Through Space", but adds an occasional collision between the "probe" and one of the stars. When a collision occurs, the signal from the probe is lost and the screen will be filled with static noise until the screensaver is restarted.
The screensaver is available for both Windows and Mac computers, and requires the free Adobe Flash Player to be installed on the user's computer. It will check for any missing dependencies during the installation process.
The XKCD Starfield screensaver is not in any way affiliated with or endorsed by XKCD.
